BSNL is in discussions with MTS to offer Co-branded 4G services across India
As per the latest information from reliable sources, State run telecom operator and National telecom backbone, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is discussions with MTS, the Indian unit of Russian telecom company Sistema, to offer 4G telecom services across the country.

BSNL & MTS will be offering 4G services through joint branding. As per latest media reports, a senior BSNL official said - "We are in the final stages of discussions with MTS and are awaiting the government's policy on spectrum sharing and trading, expected to be announced soon."
Currently, MTS offers services across nine telecom circles, while BSNL offers telecom services in all except two circles - Delhi and Mumbai. Both companies sought to combine their
Postpaid Bills & Prepaid Tariff to Cost More as Service Tax increased to 14 percent from 1st June 2015 onwards
The new service tax rate of 14 percent will come into effect from 1st June 2015 onwards across India. The service tax is currently levied at the rate 12.36 percent including education cess. The education cess and secondary and higher education cess shall be subsumed in the new service tax rate.
Service tax is applicable to all services ranging from train tickets and restaurant bills to telephone ( landline / mobile ) bills and tariff. Prepaid Recharge tariffs advertised by the operator are inclusive of service tax while postpaid tariffs advertised are exclusive of service tax.
From 1st June 2015 onwards, your total postpaid bill ( landline / mobile ) amount will behigher by 1.64% due to the increased service tax rate.

BSNL landlines began buzzing again after the introduction of unlimited free night calling offer from all BSNL landline phones to all service provider networks across the country.The offer came into effect on 1st May 2015 and got tremendous response from the public.

After one year of its tenure, Government is keen on reviving BSNL and MTNL, reports Economic Times. Ravi Prasad Shankar plans to recover BSNL, mainly by improving its connectivity. For the purpose, 25, 645 new base transmission centres (BTCs) will be placed in next two years. 15,000 BTCs are already installed.
